Avoid Like the plague, this company offers little to no support with 24 hour + response time, no real technical knowledge & canned responses for most questions, with an ability to totally ignore questions with irrelevant information.

Use at your own risk!! Be warned.

What a nightmare!!! In the end I had no option but to transfer to another web host. They have a call centre in India the staff speak broken English and i just did not get anyway with them they can now do with out my £99 Would encourage everyone to avoid them!

In my opinion, these are the worst hosting providers in the world.

They should be used as a benchmark for how to run a company badly. Their hosting is slow, and uses outdated technology, but their service is where they really go to town. Any issues are greeted with contempt, and I’ve been regularly told that I’m wasting their time. Do a search on google to see how they use customer credit card information, you might be shocked. They have a ‘bill first, ask questions later’ policy which relies on customers being very wary of charges on their statements.

Do you want a fast, reliable service with excellent customer service? Then don’t use Streamline

Not a company to deal with in any way. Avoid. Run. Never come back.

Absolutely dreadful. Was with them for 4yrs. The first 3 were OK, but they have totally gone to shit the past year.

- Uptime - crap (once a month downtime is a regularity)
- Ongoing SMTP and mail server issues - you may as well use Gmail
- Customer support is fairly prompt, but (even ‘technical’) has no clue what they’re doing any more
- 12-month minimum contract terms are archaic and trap you into a shabby service. Oh, and watch the terms and conditions because if you don’t tell them you want to leave *way* in advance they’ll still invoice you for the year and restrict access to your websites until they get paid (even if you tell them you don’t need the year’s worth of hosting)
- Phone support shipped out to India or some bullshit

UTTER WASTE. I hope they go bankrupt and fold.

StreamlineNet registered my domain in their own name instead of mine. Now they expect me to pay £11.75 to transfer it into my name.

Customer support seems devoid of any intelligent reasoning. Every support ticket receives a standard response. I asked to escalate my complaint and still get the same response. Hopeless.

I’ll be out of there as soon as I can. Thank goodness I found out sooner rather than later, I was about to upgrade to the bulk package and register another 7 domains.

Absolute shame of a company, they have no idea what they are doing, how they have been a company this long is purely a miracle in my opinion.

They offer no support, there restrictions are ludicrous, for example I have a mysql db with them which I use for my forum, and it as 2mb upload limit, my forum db is 50mb, I had some problems and needed to do a db restore and could not do it as the limit is 2mb, when I asked them about it, they said there not allowed to edit the php.ini file as it was a security risk lol.
They truly have no idea what they are talking about, very bad support avoid at all costs!

This company gives the impression that they are dealing with your problems, but in the end they just don’t fix the issues. Have had an issue with my email since february this year 2011, now June 2011 and still not fixed. Customer orders were not being sent via their email server my mac email client keeps asking to enter the password. Forms don’t work with their mail server either, just a bad host. Have had to use alternative email for php.
Avoid!! Customer support, what customer support will be moving all my sites to Just Hosts from August as streamline.net wont refund for their failures as I have a had site running with them for 12 months no problems

I have used Streamline for about 4 years, and just been bullied by them into renewing for a further 2 years. My bank cancelled my card, because the Streamline payment looked like fraud to them. But when I tried to access my control panel I was locked out and their incredibly unhelpful staff said I had to pay for 2 years hosting before I could move my domains - even though I pointed out to them that I didn’t even want 2 years hosting. Apparently there was nothing they could do. Seems to me that this is their policy. They basically bullied me into buying something that I didn’t want. At a very high price.

Their customer services department is an absolute joke. When I called the sales team they said they couldn’t do anything to help, put me through to customer services where I spoke to someone who couldn’t even speak English, who refused to help me. Their only complaints route is an address in Gloucester. I will be writing to them and will try and get my money back, but judging by what I’ve read online this is unlikely to have a favorable outcome for me… So, I’ll also be contacting Trading Standards, Watchdog and the police (they did, after all STEAL money from my account without consent from me).

This is the most awful company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Save yourselves a load of hassle and don’t use them!

Terrible hosting site. very poor technical support. i wish had time and energy like Amelia to really pursue this awful company. Spent a week trying to publish changes and with out success. Got a terrible headache and behind on my other project duties. Dont go there anyone!!!!Please avoid. you have been warned!!!!

Terrible! My hosting contract expired and I wished to move my domain. They said in order to move my domain I would have to renew and pay for the full year! Stay away!

I agree with all the above this company is terrible. I ended up contacting my bank they cancelled my bank card to stop streamline taking any money from my account. Please people do not use this company you will regret it I promise you.

Don’t use you have been warned!

I used streamline.net for about 3 years with no problem apart from slow speeds, mail access dropping all the time, over crowed servers, but you expect this with a budget hosting company. What you don’t expect is when you use their own cancellation request as per the terms and conditions, then not only have money taken out of your account but to have double the amount the renewal should have cost.

I used the online request to cancel 3 account that my client no longer needed to due their business going under, so I cancelled them all well before the renewal date about 7 months before the renewal date! So as far as I was concerned job done, I then had £202.18p taken from my account, so I phoned up streamline.net to find out what had happened, I was told it was the renewal for an account (1 of the ones I had requested closed) and that I need to put in yet another request ticket to close the account and request a refund. This I did. I was then told that I had never submitted such a ticket and that they would under no circumstances ever give me a refund.

All 3 of the cancellations all of a sudden have mysteriously vanished, and because they don’t send out confirmation emails of requests I can’t prove what happened. They keep telling me that their system is 100% accurate and nothing ever goes wrong. BULLSHIT!!!! As a web designer and programmer and a human we all know this not to be true.

After doing more research after this event I have found that this is what this company does all the time. They are not to be trusted and used! If you do be prepared to be stung! If you can afford to pay for a service that you didn’t want and are happy to throw money away then please use streamline.net you will not be disappointed with the quality of the scams they do.

I am a web developer and have been for many years.

I used to host about 30 sites with Streamline and they were good. But now the are terrible. Prices went up and service dropped drastically. I am now in the process of moving all my sites to 123-REG.

Unfortunately Streamline also make it difficult to move you sites as you have almost no control over domain names registered with them.

I think they are deliberately trying to go out of business.

My advice, stay away.

Shame, they used to be so good.

SCAM Host! These people provide basic webhosting for a great price, then they start charging you without telling you, signing you up to 2 year contracts and charging 3x more than they say.

They refuse to give refunds, discuss their pricing or offer an explanation.

Hi all I have just finished sending yet another support ticket to these idiots I will cut a long story short 1 year ago my son wanted a website so he settled on bubbles.co.uk which I registered with Streamlinenet but then found out that it was not avaliable I contacted streamlinenet and pointed out that the domain was already taken dont worry they said we can change it to another name. in the meanwhile my son decided he did not want a webste after all. My Card ran out and and my control panel was locked out on all of my sites with the notice the control panel will be unlocked on updating your card
I updated my card to find the I had invoices for bubbles £50 plus they charged me 1 year earlier £43 for hosting a site that was with someone else they said that they send out emails 30 days before invoices are due NOT TRUE, I asked them how they can charge for hosting when the domain is with someone else tyhere reply was “responsibility to check that the domain was available for your use before setting the hosting up with us.” then offered to change the name to anything I wanted FOC so I asked them to change the name to http://www.dontusestreamlinenet.co.uk they refused so I asked it to be changed to http://www.dontuse.co.uk this is there reply

“The offer of the free domain was made to help you make use of the package at no extra cost. As you do not wish to do this, aside to register complaints about Streamline.net, I am now withdrawing the offer of the free domain.

I will leave the package active so please ensure you contact us to close the package before the next renewal date.”

So the package they are leaving active is some one else’s Domain I have pointed out that I can register http://www.dontusestreamlinenet.co.uk with another company also another site I had came up for renewal went up from £70 to £118
with no notification. DONT USE DONT USE

I have emailed streamlinenet this site as I have told them on countless times there are websites full of complaints about them
I notice that fasthosts has the same address as Streamlinenet
I have emailed them twice asking if they have anything to do with Streamlinenet, as yet I have had no reply wonder why
